Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–8 pm. It is closed on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (315) 724-5821. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is danielesonline.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 289 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian restaurant in Utica and suggests consistent service.

Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Utica peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I had the cheesesteak, and it was the best cheesesteak I have ever eaten. Filet mignon, shaved!! Chicken cutlet Panini was awesome along with the Utica Greens. I Iwill be back. !!!

We were on our road trip from Canada back to North Carolina and stopped here for dinner during our first visit to Utica. Before arriving, we read about the city’s must-try foods, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The staff was incredibly friendly, recommended what to order, and made us feel like we were dining at our own neighborhood go-to spot. We tried the famous tomato pie, Utica greens, Chicken Sparta, and meatballs with penne pasta for the kids. Everything was delicious! The tomato sauce was so fresh, bright, and vibrantβ€”it reminded us of the amazing tomato sauce we had in Italy. This meal was definitely one of the highlights of our road trip. We’re so glad we stopped here, and we’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in the area!

One of the best old school spots around. The new owner has a love of all things Utica, food and Italian culture. Nothing has changed since switching hands. If anything, it's better!

The workers are very nice. The place looked clean. Parking is difficult, especially when it’s busy. I got the tomato pie. It was good, but it was not that classic tomato pie taste. My kids said the sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce and I thought it was a bit strong with the oregano. Like I said, it wasn’t bad, but to us, not that classic tomato pie taste. The crust….EXCELLENT! Not soggy, but also not hard. Just perfect with great flavor. I would definitely order it again.

Excellent excellent sandwiches. My partner and I stopped in for lunch yesterday and were blown away by the food. We also bought some sauce, pasta, and desserts to take home with us and that was all phenomenal too! We will need to make a point to stop here more often
